Health Insurance
US SAILING is proud to offer a health insurance benefit to these levels of the organization's membership:
- Certified US SAILING instructor or coach
- Collegiate sailing athlete
- US SAILING Olympic Team member
- Paid as a crew or captain for racing or transport in 2009/2010, international cruising
- Current US SAILING membership is required
This successful program is in its second year and is endorsed by the American Sailing Training Association (ASTA).
Insurer HTH Worldwide is a U.S.-based company with policies written in the U.S. and follows the strict mandates of our states. The company is 80 percent backed by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield with additional backing from Swiss RE, the largest reinsurance company in the world.
HTH provides health insurance products or services to more than 650,000 individuals who travel, study or live outside of their home country. If you are in one of the above four categories, you automatically qualify.
US SAILING Plan Highlights:
- $5 million annual maximum
- $1,000 deductible and a $5,000 80/20 coinsurance
- No waiting periods associated with preventative services
- Alcohol-related and sailboat racing injuries covered to policy maximum
- Guaranteed issued / No underwriting
- Online enrollments and credit card monthly payments
